Spring Into Summer Cleanse

It’s time for my annual online Spring into Summer Healthy Eating Workshop and I am always thrilled when this time comes. The weather has shifted and fresh local produce is abundant at the farmers’ markets now. The trees and flowers are in bloom and the air smells so sweet and fragrant.

 

I saw the first fireflies the other night and that is always such a beautiful, magical experience.

So what do we do in this healthy eating workshop?
We add in delicious, nourishing foods that gently detox and refresh your body to usher you to the foods of Spring and Summer.

 

Each season correlates to a different organ system in the body.
Aligning ourselves with the healing foods of each season gives our body a refreshing lift.

In case you don’t know me well, I’m Holly Shelowitz, Culinary Nutrition Educator and Certified Nutrition Counselor.

 

I’ve worked with thousands of clients and students over the past 20 years teaching about nourishment- on the plate, and beyond the plate. As a nutrition counselor, personal chef, recipe developer, author and chef educator, all of my work revolves around food, cooking and self-care.

 

I moved out of my family home at age 16 and learned quickly how to shop, prepare and cook healthy food.
I healed my sweet cravings, allergies and digestive issues and I look forward to helping you heal as well. My first career was as a commercial photographer, then after 15 years of doing this wonderful work, I realized through some beautiful synchronicities that every class I was taking and the books and magazines I was reading, were all about food, cooking, nutrition and self- care. I was already making and selling organic skincare products. It was time to go to school for nutrition. I started my business when I was still in nutrition school and here we are 20 years later.

 

Over the years, I’ve worked on some very cool projects in addition to teaching and counseling the coolest clients ever (you!) I have taught cooking classes at The Natural Gourmet School for Food and Health, I was the Northeast Regional Educator for Whole Foods Market, launching 2 company-wide healthy eating education and cooking programs. I’ve created nutrition and cooking programs at Mother Earth’s Stores, Eileen Fisher, UPS, American Express and many more. I teach at farmers’ markets, libraries organizations and I look forward to supporting you with your health and well-being.

How can this workshop help? We will incorporate delicious, fresh whole foods, herbs and spices that nourish your adrenals and gently support your liver, helping to create energy, and release stagnation. Will we be fasting? No way. This workshop is about nourishment and blood sugar balance while enjoying delicious whole food meals, beautiful smoothies, soups, snacks and even desserts. No starvation, no deprivation and lots of self-care.

 

With our focus on self-care, you will learn many time saving tips and practices to help you in your busy life.

What’s different about this workshop, is that you are giving your body nutrient dense foods – no starvation around here.

 

The cookbook is filled with simple recipes so there are lots of options for delicious foods. You will learn how to nourish your body and understand your cravings. The most common thing clients say is how satisfied they feel once they learn how to replace the non nutritious “foods” with nutrient dense foods.

 

The sample meal plans are flexible and packed with amazing recipes that will likely become your favorites- long after this workshop is over. Plus, you get to decide what you’re eating each day and you will see how easy it is to stick to the plan when you’re dining out.

 

There are teaching calls, live video cooking classes and support throughout the workshop to guide you to make the most delicious choices. What if I’m not available for the live calls?
While I encourage you to participate on the live calls if at all possible, recordings will be emailed to you so you can listen at your convenience- from your couch, while driving, exercising or resting.

This cleanse is suitable for meat eaters, vegans, raw foodies and everyone in between. You will be enjoying an abundance of fruits and vegetables, salads, smoothies, soups, amazing meals and you always have the option of eating gluten free grains, fish, lean, organic grass fed meats

Do I need any special equipment?
I recommend having a good knife, a decent blender, a cutting board and a journal. If you have a juicer or a food processor, bring them out. You may find new uses for them during the Spring into Summer Cleanse. You are certainly not required to purchase any special equipment to effectively complete the cleanse.

I travel a lot for work and have a vacation and some parties planned as well. Can I still do this cleanse and succeed? 
Summer is about having fun, and this time of year is about spending time with your people, being outside and living life to the fullest. You will learn exactly how to order when you’re dining out, attending dinners and weekend parties and traveling. There’s also a special section of the cookbook for pot lucks and picnics so you have delicious dishes to bring to your gatherings.

Schedule of Events
In these live teaching calls, you will learn everything you need to know about the workshop, step by step and have a chance to ask all of your health questions. In the cooking classes, you will learn creative, inspired recipes to include in your healthy eating challenge. There will be spontaneous live videos on the facebook page throughout the workshop. All of the calls and classes are recorded so you can listen/watch if you aren’t able to make them live.
